Name of Pakistan:
Very fascinating history lies behind the name of Pakistan. This name was developed by the group of students at the Unoversity of Cambridge, and was first used by Chaudhary Rehmat Ali in his first pamphlet, Now or Never.The name was derived by the northern units of british raj, PAKI derived from the initital alphabets of, Punjab, Afghanis(Nortt West Frontier Province) Kashmir, Iran and the suffix “Stan” is taken from the suffix of Balochistan. The meaning of Pakistan is the land of paks, Pure and clean, a country that is a true islamic country.
Religion in Pakistan:
The dominating religion in Pakistan is lslam. infact Pakistan came into being in the name of Islam, for the muslims of the sub-continent. whop wanted to lead their life according to Islamic principles. Islam is the religion of 97% people of Pakistan. The other remaining belong to christianity, hinduism, sikhism and other religions.There are two major groups of muslims in pakistan. One is Sunni and the other group is Shias.
Culture of Pakistan:
Though Pakistan is a Islamic country, and Islamic rules governs their personal, political, economic and legal lives somewhat. The people of Pakistan spent a long time together with Hindus and Sikhs when they were the part of sub-continent and that is why their culture shows the strong influence of the culture of Hinduism in it.
